Area college football: Dustin Rinker scores four TDs as Carroll wins Frontier, heads to playoffs

Dustin Rinker ran for 170 yards and four touchdowns and No. 2 Carroll secured the Frontier Conference title for the second-straight year after a 69-12 rout of College of Idaho (4-7, 3-7) at Nelson Stadium on Saturday in Helena.

Saints’ quarterback Mac Roche added 230 passing yards and three scores, two of which went to Kyle Griffiths.

The win gave Carroll (9-1, 9-1) the conference’s automatic berth to the NAIA Football Championship Series.

Central Washington 40, Simon Fraser 27: Jake Nelson threw for 410 yards and four touchdowns as the Wildcats (7-4, 5-2) wrapped up their season with a win over the Clan (2-9, 2-5) in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Puget Sound 27, Willamette 14: Braden Foley threw for 247 yards and two first-half touchdowns as the the Loggers (4-5, 3-4) topped the Bearcats (5-4, 3-4) in a Northwest Conference finale in Salem, Oregon.

Pacific Lutheran 49, George Fox 7: Niko Madison ran for 162 yards and two scores and Dalton Ritchey added three rushing touchdowns as the Lutes (7-2, 5-2) dumped the Bruins (1-8, 1-6) in a Northwest Conference finale in Puyallup, Washington.
