Obituary: Walker, Eric John

Age 59

WALKER, Eric John October 6, 1955- November 4, 2014 Eric passed after a nine month battle against cancer.

Eric was active in the Performing Arts.

His first love was dance and choreography.

He performed in numerous stage productions in Los Angeles, CA in the 1970’s.

He was employed by Walt Disney Studios as a dancer and choreographer; he also performed on the Carol Burnett Variety Show as a Carol Burnett Dancer.

Eric relocated to Spokane in 1978.

His talent allowed him to perform at the Opera House with the Christie Lane Dance Company in the 1980’s.

Eric had a great love of the beaches of California, Oregon and Washington; he spent many vacations enjoying the sun, sand and surfs along with the beautiful sunsets.

Eric worked for Aramark Magazine & Book Division from 1985 through 1999.

He was also employed by Merrill Gardens Academy as Activity Director.

Eric was employed by Holy Family Hospital when he was diagnosed with cancer in February 2014.

Eric is survived by his domestic partner of 36 years, Robert Wassemiller, Jr.; father Lyle A. Walker; mother Dolores J. Walker; sisters Vickie West, Pamela Walker; brothers Mike Walker and Steve Walker, all residing in Idaho.

Eric is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 1PM at Holy Family Hospital Chapel, Main Floor, 5633 N. Lidgerwood, Spokane, WA.

A Celebration of Life in Eric’s honor will follow immediately after memorial service.
