In brief: Claus will pose for pictures

HILLYARD – Santa Claus will be posing for pictures with people and pets on Saturday.

COPS Northeast is bringing him to the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council Building at 6116 N. Market St. Santa will be there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The suggested donation is $3, photo CDs will be available for pickup Wednesday at the COPS Northeast office, 5208 N. Market St.

EWU panel to focus on Ebola

CHENEY – Eastern Washington University is hosting a panel discussion today on the Ebola epidemic.

Krisztian Magori, of the EWU Biology Department; Jerry Galm, of the EWU Anthropology Department; and Mark Springer, an epidemiologist with the Spokane Regional Health District will speak.

The panel members will discuss the disease, cultural and social issues that affect its spread, and the public health response.

The session is at 2 p.m. at Showalter Hall, room 109. The discussion is sponsored by EWU Health, Wellness and Prevention Services and the Spokane Regional Health District.

Burn calories at Zumba class

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Parks and Recreation Department is putting on a special post Thanksgiving Zumba class on Nov. 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place.

The class is for ages 16 and older. It costs $9, or $15 for two people.
