Two injured after hitting school bus

Two people on a dirt bike received serious injuries when they ran into the side of a school bus at Magnolia Street and Boone Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. today. It appears that the motorcycle was heading south on Magnolia while the school bus, which was empty, was going east on Boone, said Spokane Police Sgt. Jason Hartman. “I think the motorcycle hit the bus,” said Hartman. Spokane Public Schools spokesman Kevin Morrison said one of the passengers was a student who had just been picked up by a parent or older sibling at nearby Stevens Elementary School. “I believe neither was wearing a helmet,” Morrison said. Their injuries were serious but believed to be non-life threatening, said Hartman.
