Obituary: Geiss, Ted

Age 78

GEISS, Ted (Age 77) Passed away November 13, 2014, with his family by his side.

He was born in Spokane, on November 26, 1936, to Ted and Sally Geiss.

Ted grew up in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School.

After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army, as an iron worker.

During his service he was stationed in Germany where he had some adventures that even 50 years later he still enjoyed reminiscing about.

Ted was a curious and creative man whose interests led him on a variety of career paths.

Over the years, he opened a scuba diving shop, worked as a typesetter, owned an advertising distributorship, worked as a cook, and handicapped horse races, publishing and selling The Pace tip sheet.

Uncle Clint said it best: “Ted Geiss was an independent man, an entrepreneur, got from point A to B in life’s journey with goodness.

He was humorous and lovingly cantankerous.

Loved his children more than they will ever know.

Married enough times until he got it right.

I’ll really miss him.”

Ted is survived by his wife Lynnette; his children, Lisa, Melanie, Ti (wife Angela), and their mother, Janet; grandchildren Jake, Kaylee, Jessie, James, and William; great-grandson Liam; sister Karen (husband Don); brother Clint (wife Donna); nephews Nathan and Seth.

Ted was much loved, and will be deeply missed.

A private family service will be held.

Memorials may be made to SCRAPS or to the Spokane VA Hospital.
