Obituary: Johnson, Erville “Ervie”

JOHNSON, Erville “Ervie” (Age 100) Our dear mother, grandmother and great- grandmother peacefully went to be with her Savior on the 19th of November.

She was 100 years and one month old.

She still kept her beautiful optimism, faith and sense of humor.

Ervie was born in 1914 on a wheat ranch near Wilcox, WA to David and Delia Oakes.

She had an older sister, Bernice.

They were very close growing up on their ranch in Farmington, WA.

Ervie graduated from Farmington High School and attended Kinman Business College in Spokane.

She married Earnest Johnson in 1938.

They had a daughter, Judith Ann, and a son, Michael.

Meanwhile the family had begun traveling, courtesy of the U.S. Army.

They lived at U.S. military posts and foreign ones as well for many years but settled in Chattaroy, Washington where they enjoyed retirement, travel and their many grandchildren.

Earnie passed away in 1998.

She is survived by her son, Michael; her daughter, Judith and her grandchildren Laurel Doucet, Wendy Yim, David Johnson, Kristine Hendrickson, Kellsie Kasian and Karen Hoover, as well as 13 great- grandchildren.

There will be a family memorial service at a later date.

RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, 4305 N. Division Street, Spokane, WA 99207.
