Massage Envy plans new spa

Shawn Husmann will open a South Hill Massage Envy spa next spring in a new building at Grape Tree Village.

The new 3,800-square -foot spa is at 2203 E. 29th Ave., just east of the Applebee’s Restaurant.

In 2011 Husmann opened the first Spokane-area Massage Envy franchise in north Spokane. A Coeur d’Alene Massage Envy is also planned for next year.

Husmann expects to open the new location in spring 2015.

Construction will cost roughly $1.2 million, said Gary Saiki, of Cloninger Associates, the property owner.

Kilgore Construction, of Spokane, is the general contractor.

Cory Barbieri of Spokane-based Goodale & Barbieri Co. helped arrange the lease.

Foundation plans to relocate

The Innovate Washington Foundation is relocating from the Spokane University District to 2,600 square feet in the Iron Bridge III building, at 714 N. Ironbridge Way, east of downtown. That building is 80 percent occupied by the Social Security Administration.

The foundation plans to move into the space in January.

Innovate Washington Foundation is the fundraising arm of Innovate Washington, the state economic development agency that lost state funding earlier this year. The agency’s responsibilities were taken over by the state.

The foundation, however, still manages federal grant money and has signed a five-year lease, said Iron Bridge property owner Kent Hull.

Divcon is the general contractor for the remodeling. Mike Livingston and Craig Soehren, both of Kiemle & Hagood, brokered the lease.

T-Mobile to open South Hill store

Express Locations has begun work on a new T-Mobile retail store at 4911 S. Regal Road, in the Regal Plaza on the South Hill.

The business is taking 1,800 square feet in the development’s Pad C building, near the new Target store. It expects to be open by January.

Jim Quigley of Kiemle & Hagood represented T-Mobile in the deal.
