‘Today’ show crew hosts annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 88th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade: Marching bands, cheerleaders, clowns, celebrities and giant balloons that, thankfully, are way more bloated than our bellies. The holiday spectacle returns in all its festive glory as the three-headed “Today” show crew – Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie – usher us through the celebration. 9 a.m. Thursday, NBC.

SUNDAY: The Grammys won’t be handed out until February, but, hey we’ve got the 2014 American Music Awards to tide us over. Scheduled performers include Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Lorde, Sam Smith and Pitbull. 8 p.m., ABC.

SUNDAY: “Jay Leno: The Mark Twain Prize” has the former “Tonight Show” host resurfacing to become the 17th recipient of the prestigious award for American humor. He’s honored by, among others, Garth Brooks, Seth Meyers and Jerry Seinfeld. 7 p.m., KSPS; 8 p.m., KCDT.

MONDAY: In tonight’s fall finale of “Gotham,” Selina leads her new pal Bruce Wayne on a perilous journey through the city while hoping to evade the professional assassins who are on her trail. 8 p.m., Fox.

MONDAY: The new series “Booze Traveler” invites viewers to belly up to the bar with host Jack Maxwell. The cocktail connoisseur travels the globe in search of interesting beverages and the people who drink them. 10 p.m., Travel Channel.

TUESDAY: They’ve busted out their best moves and strutted their stuff on the 19th season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Now it’s time to watch the winners waltz off with that hideous disco-ball trophy. 8 p.m., ABC.

WEDNESDAY: The “Saturday Night Live” Thanksgiving special serves up reheated helpings of sketches pegged to the holiday. And, yes, we’ll take more of Adam Sandler’s “Turkey Song,” please. 9 p.m., NBC.

THURSDAY: “Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular” sounds like a worthy pet project. Hosted by Jane Lynch and Hilary Swank, it’s a special that unleashes inspiring stories of dog rescues and information on how to adopt animals. 8 p.m., Fox.

THURSDAY: Be prepared to be inspired. “Thank You, America! With Robin Roberts” is a feel-good special that has the morning TV host celebrating the deeds of the nation’s unsung heroes. 8 p.m., ABC.

FRIDAY: Let the blizzard of yuletide specials begin. “Frosty the Snowman” returns for its annual airing and we bet there’s still some magic left in that old silk hat of his. 9 p.m., CBS.

FRIDAY: “Kristin Chenoweth: Coming Home” has the dynamic performer returning to her ‘hood – Broken Arrow, Okla. – to belt out some of her favorite tunes. The set list includes “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” as well as “Popular” and “For Good,” from the hit musical “Wicked.” 9 p.m., KSPS.

SATURDAY: Check it out: Grumpy Cat is now a movie star! In “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever,” the frowny feline forms a unique bond with a 12-year-old girl that just might warm the heart of our sourpuss. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
