Be strong, Republicans

President Obama has created the latest constitutional crisis with his unconstitutional and illegal decree that changes our nation’s immigration laws. The Constitution, in Article 1, Section 8, gives only Congress the power “To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization.” Obama does not have the authority to unilaterally declare amnesty.

I fear the Republican leadership, which includes Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, will exacerbate this crisis by refusing to exercise their constitutional powers to stop this egregious attack on our nation’s Constitution.

Has the Republican leadership already forgotten the tremendous gains American voters gave them just a few days ago? A majority of American voters decided against Obama policies and programs, yet Republicans appear to still be afraid of their own shadow.

An overwhelming number of Americans have time and again made it loud and clear that we don’t support amnesty. Now, we have the president willingly and blatantly violating our laws and Constitution.

If McMorris Rodgers and her fellow GOP leaders again fail the American people by again failing to uphold their oath to support and defend the Constitution, then the GOP leaders shouldn’t be surprised when we the people assemble recall and replace efforts.

The crisis is real and now!
