Introspection needed

Everyone has an opinion about the tragic Preston Maher case; however, how many of us have actually checked ourselves the last time we sped through a 25 mph neighborhood or tore past school zone signs or even accelerated to pass other cars slowing for the amber stop light? The driving public no longer accepts that it is illegal to speed; even 5 mph over the limit gets you tailgated and rude gestures from drivers who never seem to leave soon enough to get where they are going on time.

Do drivers actually think regulatory signs are just optional suggested rules to follow or ignore as they choose? Perhaps as we consider our side on the Maher matter, we should all ponder the potentially harmful choices we make every time we get behind the wheel of a car and then judge accordingly.
