Boxers start fast, beat Whitworth

Bobby Ladiges ran for 141 yards and three touchdowns and Kamana Pimental added 123 yards on the ground and a score as Pacific beat Whitworth 29-15 in a Northwest Conference game Saturday in Forest Grove, Oregon. The Boxers (1-2, 1-0) racked up 327 rushing yards compared to just 19 for the Pirates. Whitworth quarterback Bryan Peterson threw for 260 yards and a touchdown, but the Pirates couldn’t crawl back from a 22-6 halftime deficit. The loss was the second in a row for the Pirates (3-2, 1-1) following a 3-0 start to the season. Whitworth plays host to Willamette in its Homecoming game next Saturday.
