Suspected stabber surrounded in southwest Spokane

Spokane police have surrounded a home in southwest Spokane where they suspect a man who stabbed another is hiding. Police were called to the 2000-block of West Seventh Avenue about 7 p.m. after the victim was stabbed in his car, said Spokane police Lt. Alan Arnzen. Witnesses said the victim was arguing with a woman in his car when two men approached and argued with the driver, Arnzen said. One of the men reached into the car and stabbed the driver. The driver, in an attempt to flee, drove into an adjacent field, Arnzen said. When he exited, his car struck the companion of the stabber. The stabbing victim suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Arnsen said. The man struck by the car suffered minor injuries. The woman in the car was uninjured. The stabber fled the scene. The home surrounded by police is nearby the original crime scene.
