WSU-Stanford: Jacob Thorpe’s keys to the game

2: What went wrong

Washington State was rarely able to get the Stanford offense off the field and the Cardinal averaged 7.3 yards per play. The Cardinal defense was well rested after the offense’s methodical scoring drive and Stanford won the game when the Cougars tired late in the game.

2: Difference maker

Hogan has shouldered a lot of the blame for Stanford’s offensive struggles this season but he was excellent on Friday. Hogan completed 23 of 35 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns, ending with better numbers than WSU’s prolific Connor Halliday.
