Dan Caesar’s Thursday night NFL pick

Kickoff: 5:25 p.m., CBS Records: New York 1-5 overall, 0-2 road. New England 4-2, 2-0 home. Line: NE by 9 1/2 O/U: 44 1/2

Synopsis: New England QB Tom Brady is finally clicking and the Patriots have averaged 40 points in the last two outings. That’s a bad sign for N.Y., which hasn’t won since opening day and will be hard-pressed to keep up with the Patriots’ attack even if the Jets’ sixth-rated defense slows it a bit. N.Y. averages just 16 points a game, 30th in the league. But at least the Jets won’t have to contend with Patriots LB Jerod Mayo and RB Stevan Ridley – each has a knee injury. Pick: Patriots 37-17.
