Obituary: Elber, Norma Jean (Hoffman)

Age 59

ELBER, Norma Jean (Hoffman) Passed away on October 6, 2014 due to complications of an extended illness.

She was 59.

Norma Jean was born on November 20, 1954 in Spokane, Washington to Norman Ray and Marian Louise Hoffman.

She was a graduate of Shadle Park High School, class of 1973.

Norma Jean married Roger Lyle Elber in 1975.

They had two children, Aimee and Jonas.

The Elbers moved to Richland, WA in 1985 where Roger worked as a Business Representative for the Machinists Union.

They moved back to Spokane in 1999.

Roger passed shortly thereafter in 2002.

In 2005, Norma Jean met and married Tom Nichols.

Mrs. Elber dedicated her time to raising her two children, serving in the LDS church, and her hobbies of oil painting, photography, and singing with Sweet Adelines.

She had a passion for literacy and the arts, and also supported local theater and symphony productions.

Mrs. Elber is survived by her husband Tom Nichols, daughter Aimee Elber; son Jonas Elber and his fiancee Melissa Devine, former daughter-in-law Rebekah Weber, three grandchildren, and brothers Daniel, David, and Bruce Hoffman.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Roger.

Mrs. Elber was buried in a private ceremony on October 13, 2014 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane.
