App battles domestic abuse

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback William Gay is working with a women’s shelter to promote the national debut of a mobile app designed to help victims of domestic violence. The “RUSafe” app has been available in Pittsburgh for several months and will be made available nationally on iPhones and Androids beginning on Nov. 1. Gay has become a leading advocate for domestic violence victims. His mother, Carolyn Hall, was killed by her husband when Gay was a child. The Steelers (3-3) play at home tonight ( 5:30, ESPN) against the Houston Texans (3-3) . Pittsburgh is 41-24 on Monday night and 25-5 at home, including an 8-0 record at Heinz Field.
