In brief: EWU, WSU host Senior Smile Day

SPOKANE – Eastern Washington University and WSU Spokane Health Sciences are hosting Senior Smile Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Health Sciences Building, 310 N. Riverpoint Blvd.

The event for senior citizens will include free flu vaccinations, oral cancer screenings, fall prevention workshops, gait screenings, hearing tests, nutrition consultations and blood pressure screenings.

Riverside hosting candidate forum

DOWNTOWN SPOKANE – The Riverside Neighborhood Council will host a candidate forum Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in room 1A of the Downtown Spokane Public Library, 906 W. Main.

Candidates scheduled to attend include Joe Pakootas, Tim Benn, Al French, Mary Lou Johnson, Ozzie Knezovich and Doug Orr. Questions from the audience will be taken and candidates may take up to three minutes to respond.
