Obituary: Andrews, Dorothy Kathryn

ANDREWS, Dorothy Kathryn (Age 101) She was born in Tacoma, WA on September 29, 1913 to John P. and Kathryn Feuerstein and reared in Portland, OR.

Dorothy was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Portland.

She loved the outdoors and, in her youth, made a successful ascent of Mount Hood in Oregon.

She was employed in the accounting department at the Portland Electric Company prior to meeting the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Andrews of Oregon City, OR.

Dorothy and Bob were married at Hinson Memorial Baptist Church on May 17, 1938.

They soon moved to Spokane and they were to become the loving parents of four sons and start a business (Andrews Equipment Service).

Dorothy was active in the Suburbanites in Spokane.

Dorothy and Bob, nearing retirement, moved to Post Falls, ID.

Later, they were to move to Orcas Island, Port Ludlow, and Gig Harbor, WA.

Following the loss of her husband in 1999, Dorothy has lived in Tacoma and Spokane.

She is survived by her sons Robert B. Andrews, Jr. (Judy) of Memphis, TN and Spencer K. Andrews (Rebecca) of Spokane Valley; a sister Frances E. Town of Tacoma; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sons Michael G. and Mark W. Andrews; brothers J. Donald and Evan R. Firestone; grandsons Gordon, Michael G. Jr. and Robert B. Andrews III.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30PM, Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
