Obituary: Bartlett, William Ward “Bill”

Age 71

BARTLETT, William Ward “Bill” Was born in St. Paul, MN to Clifford and Agnes Bartlett (both deceased) on September 14, 1942.

He worked hard from the time he was young at his father’s Texaco station, and played hard on their horse farm with his younger sister Lynda Bartlett (of San Francisco).

He married Patricia Ann Loretz (deceased) in 1966, and shortly after graduated from University of Minnesota in Agricultural Business.

He used that degree working in the Black Hills of South Dakota where they had two daughters, Michelle Bartlett Dahl and Krista Bartlett Featherstone (both of Spokane).

Bill had a successful career in real estate in Spokane until 1980 when he bought Royal Upholstery, which remained his main focus until his death.

Bill was an enthusiast and perfectionist in all he did, particularly marathons, motorcycles, horses, snowmobiles, cars, scuba diving and boating.

Above all else, Bill loved God.

His faith in Jesus Christ was the driving force of the modesty, discipline and integrity in his life.

His happiest years were his last ones, spent sharing life with his best friend and loving companion Carol Grant (of Spokane).

His six grandchildren are comforted knowing that he died instantly on a beautiful sunny day while running on the Centennial Trail in Coeur d’Alene.

We are all blessed for having had him in our lives and his void will never be filled this side of heaven.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 5th, 5 pm at Calvary Chapel North, 511 W. Hastings Rd., Spokane WA, 99218.

Gifts or donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice House Spokane or to the Spokane Union Gospel Mission.
