Johnson good for Spokane

As a 35-year veteran criminal justice professional, I cannot overstate my enthusiasm for the sensible and effective Smart Justice program that Mary Lou Johnson, candidate for Spokane County commissioner, has been instrumental in establishing. This was recognized by The Spokesman-Review editorial board in its initial endorsement, and confirmed by the primary election results.

I have been fortunate to be involved in numerous projects under Johnson’s leadership during the last 22 years. I emphasize that her intelligence and common sense shine brightly in everything she does. If anything shines more brightly, it is her steadfast, ethical, honest and informed approach to problem solving. She is a successful lawyer responsible for the federal court’s model drug court. She is also a nurse, a mother, a community leader and a person who demonstrates leadership, organizational management and mediation skills in many settings around Spokane.

Mary Lou Johnson is a skilled listener, communicator and someone who Spokane needs to have as county commissioner.
