Obituary: House, Oren C.

Age 93

HOUSE, Oren C. (Age 93) Born March 2, 1921 in Spokane and went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2014.

He graduated from North Central High School in 1940 and served in the Army during World War II from September 1942 thru November 1945 with much of the time in the Aleutian Islands as an office clerk and the last few months as an assistant chaplain at the Army Hospital in Vancouver, WA.

Oren retired after many years behind a desk for the railroad, trucking companies and finally as an office manager from Eastern Washington University in February 1982.

He was a long time member of the First Assembly of God Church since 1936.

His many services over the years were youth Leader, orchestra member and director, pianist and organist.

He also taught Sunday school and served as an elder for the Church.

During his retirement years, he was a volunteer swim instructor for the disabled at the YMCA and served on the board of Union Gospel Mission.

Oren was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Grace; his daughter, Patricia and son, Robert.

Memorial services will be held at the First Assembly of God Church, 828 W. Indiana, Spokane on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Stevens officiating.
