Obituary: Marcy, Eileen “Granny”
Age 98
Eileen Patricia Lyons was born to Bartholomew Lyons and Christina Patrick Lyons on August 13, 1916 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
She celebrated her 13th Birthday as the family moved to Wenatchee.
In Wenatchee she met and married Charles Floyd Marcy.
They were soon blessed with their only son, Ronald, followed by three daughters; Mary Jo (Woods), Kathleen (Nelson), and Margaret (Warren).
In 1950 the Marcy family moved to Spokane where they established a home in the Valley.
The only time Granny worked outside the home was from 1958 to 1961 when they owned “Go Burgers” drive-in on Trent.
During that time, with the birth of her first grandchild, Eileen became Granny.
Eleven more grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren would eventually become the most important part of her life: Family!
Granny’s life revolved around family dinners, babysitting , family visits, letters, and phone calls.
Granny was the center of this big extended family and it was her wishes for gathering that made her legacy.
Granny was blessed to live all 64 years in Spokane in the same home with help from her family and loving caregivers.
She spent her last days being well cared for at Royal Park.
She now goes to meet those who have gone before her, her parents, husband, and son and all of her siblings.
Her brothers, Barth, Hank, and Jack Lyons and sisters Margaret (Noonkester) and Mary (Danly).
Services for Granny will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at Thornhill Valley.
Viewing at 12:30, service at 1:30, with burial to follow at Pines Cemetery.
