Tompson’s hat trick propels Vikings to win

Lane Thompson’s hat trick helped the Coeur d’Alene boys soccer team shut out Lewiston 4-0 in an Inland Empire 5A League match Saturday in Lewiston.

All three of Thompson’s goals came after halftime. Gunnar Skindlov assisted on all three. The Vikings also benefited from an own goal.

Coeur d’Alene kept control throughout, outshooting the Bengals 11-1.

Girls soccer

Meg Lowery scored twice and Coeur d’Alene beat Lewiston 3-1 in an Inland Empire 5A League match played in Coeur d’Alene.

The Vikings’ Kylie Hanson opened the scoring in the 8th minute before Lowery scored her first goal in the 22nd minute.

Following a goal from Lewiston’s Madison Taylor in the 27th minute, Lowery scored again in the 74th minute to pad the lead.

Volleyball

Emilee Schlader had 15 kills to help Lewiston beat University 25-23, 25-16 in the Lakeland Invitational title match in Rathdrum.

Sydney Schlect had seven kills and Jacey Schuh added 17 digs.

The Titans earned a spot in the title match after beating Coeur d’Alene 25-16, 25-23 in the semifinals.

Lewiston topped Lake City 25-8, 23-25, 15-10 in the semifinals.

• Central Valley defeated North Kitsap 20-25, 25-17, 15-9 in the Yakima SunDome Festival title match in Yakima.
