Bulldogs shut out Broncos
Tori Lee and Heather Johnson scored to lead Gonzaga to its second soccer shutout of the season, a 2-0 non-conference victory at Boise State on Monday.
Karley Baggerly intercepted a Broncos’ pass and fed Lee, who deposited the low pass into the left corner midway in the first half.
Johnson’s goal came less than two minutes into the second half as she converted off a Kristin Standish corner as GU evened its record to 4-4-0.
Volleyball
Idaho senior middle blocker Alyssa Schultz is the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Saturday.
It’s the first weekly honor for a Vandal since UI rejoined the Big Sky this year.
Schultz led Idaho to a 2-1 record at the Idaho Nike Invitational, collecting all-tournament honors with 31 kills, one error and 56 attacks in 13 sets while recording two perfect games.
Girls soccer
Mary Nicklay scored two goals and assisted on the third as Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy (3-1-0, 3-0) beat Timberlake 3-0 in an Intermountain League match in Spirit Lake.
Nicklay set up Alexa Ricks for the first goal 88 seconds before her first.
