Greg Lee and Sam Adams Pick 6

Poor Sam Adams.

You have to feel for him. He thought he’d gain ground on me last week, but those mighty Titans from University came through for yours truly again. I had the first perfect week, putting me at 11-1 overall. Adams is 9-3.

I know I’m living large, batting at a .917 clip. That won’t last all fall.

U-Hi vs. Ferris, tonight, Albi, 7:15

Lee: Considering the Titans’ start and what they’ve done for me (I know it’s not for me, it’s for them) I should stick with them. Ferris played poorly against Coeur d’Alene last Friday, but CdA is going to make a lot of teams play poorly. I sense a Saxons rebound. Ferris 27, U-Hi 21.

Adams: I can’t believe I’m picking against U-Hi AGAIN, but the Saxons will finally get the offense clicking against the upset-minded Titans. Ferris 28, U-Hi 21.

Colfax at Wilbur-Creston, 7

Lee: The Northeast 2B game could be a dandy. Traditional power Colfax takes on a team many believe would have contended for a 1B 8-man state title had it not moved up a classification. Tradition will top newbie. Colfax 26, W-C 18.

Adams: Who’s going to be the second-best team in the NE 2B this year? We could find out Friday. Colfax has certainly had the firepower over the first two games. Colfax should carry that over this week. Colfax 33, W-C 27.

Coeur d’Alene at Moses Lake, 7

Lee: The Vikings will keep rolling. They’re a machine with athleticism, speed and confidence seemingly as deep as the ocean. CdA 35, Moses Lake 7.

Adams: I’m amazed how sloppy the Vikings were against Ferris last week yet still put up 31 points in a win. CdA will clean things up this week. CdA 35, Moses Lake 14.

Mead at Gonzaga Prep, 7

Lee: Mead got a nice road win last week. If the Panthers hope to stay stride for stride with the Bullpups, they’ll have to slow down running back Jack Bamis. Tall task. G-Prep 28, Mead 14.

Adams: Two ground-and-pound attacks go toe-to-toe. I’ve always believed the Bullpups are one of the toughest teams to beat in September. G-Prep 28, Mead 14.

Lewis and Clark at C. Valley, 7

Lee: Two teams desperately needing a win – not so much to be a player for a postseason berth but for the psyche. Defense will be the difference. LC 24, CV 10.

Adams: LC has beefed up, and the Tigers played with lots of heart in an overtime loss last week. LC 24, CV 20.

Shadle Park at Lake City, 7

Lee: It’s Shadle quarterback Brett Rypien vs. the Timberwolves’ speed. Neither team will be able to stop the other. LC 50, Shadle 48.

Adams: I can’t shake the feeling that the Highlanders will win in a high-scoring shootout. Shadle 52, LC 49.
