In brief: Fred Funk, Paul Goydos sit tied for lead in Hawaii

Golf: Fred Funk shot a 10-under 62 on Saturday for a share of the lead with Paul Goydos in the Champions Tour’s Hawaii Championship in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Funk had 11 birdies and a bogey at Kapolei Golf Club.

Goydos shot a 63 to match Funk at 15-under 129.

Corey Pavin and Vijay Singh were 13 under. Pavin birdied the last five holes for a 61, and Singh shot 65.

Tom Pernice Jr., the first-round leader after a 60, was in the group at 12 under after a 72.

Davis Love III followed his opening 69 with a 72 to drop into a tie for 57th at 3 under in his Champions Tour debut. The 20-time PGA Tour winner turned 50 in April.

Jung Hur, Reto share lead in Alabama South Korea’s Mi Jung Hur birdied four for the last eight holes for a 5-under 67 and a share of the lead with South Africa’s Paula Reto in the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic in Prattville, Alabama.

Reto, the second-round leader, birdied three of the final five holes for a 70 to match Hur at 15-under 201 on Capitol Hill’s links-style Senator layout.

Hur won her lone LPGA Tour title in 2009, and Reto is winless in her rookie season. Reto, 24, started playing golf in 2005 when she moved to Florida with her family.

Top-ranked Stacy Lewis and Kris Tamulis were tied for third at 11 under.

• Fathauer leads Web.com Tour Championship Derek Fathauer shot a 3-under 67 to take a one-stroke lead over Zac Blair in the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Fathauer has already earned a PGA Tour card with a top-25 finish on the Web.com Tour’s regular-season money list. The 28-year-old former Louisville player had a 12-under 198 total on TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley Course.

Blair, needing to earn about $40,000 for a PGA Tour card, shot a 71.

Jason Gore was third at 10 under after a 66. Jim Herman had a 65.

Spokane’s Alex Prugh shot a 2-under 68 for a 3-under 207 total, and sits tied for 20th place.

U.S. Women’s hoops cruises past China

Miscellany Nneka Ogwumike scored 16 points and Jantel Lavender added 14 to help the U.S. women’s national team beat China 99-75 in an exhibition game in Paris.

The U.S. scored nine of the first 11 points and led 27-10 after the first quarter thanks to Tina Charles and Diana Taurasi, who combined for 19 points in the period.

The Americans, who will play France today, extended the advantage to 51-24 at the half and never looked back in the second half.

Wen Lu and Liting Zhang each had 10 for China.

The two teams will meet again in pool play at the world championship in Turkey.

Goffin and Sousa reach Moselle Open final Sixth-seeded Joao Sousa of Portugal rallied to win 7-6 (6), 6-2 against second-seeded Gael Monfils and reach the Moselle Open final in Metz, France, where he faces eighth-seeded David Goffin of Belgium.

Goffin, who eliminated top-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarters, beat Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the other semifinal yesterday.
