Obituary: Mccollum, Mary A.

Age 87

McCOLLUM, Mary A. October 3rd, 1927 ~ September 17th, 2014 Mary was the proud matriarch of a large family and most enjoyed time spent visiting with her many children, grandchil-dren, and great grand-children.

Her hobbies and interests included garden-ing, cooking, reading, sewing, and domestic travel.

She accompanied her late husband Patrick on road trips throughout the United States.

She also visited Mexico and Mary and Patrick celebrated their 50th anniversary in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

Mary was very proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandkids and those serving in the military.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Patrick C. McCollum.

She is survived by her sisters, Monica Schoen, Rita (Gene) Cameron, Therese (Joe) Scarpelli, Claire McCollum and brother-in-law Mike McCollum; her seven children, Patti (Jack) Schoonover, Worley, ID, Chris Presta, Spokane Valley, WA, Claudia Arel, Hayden, ID, Susan (Jerry) Goettle, Helena, MT, Mike (Lindy) McCollum, Roseberg, OR, Jay (Jocelyn) McCollum, Kenai, AK, and Laurie (Dave) Ferguson, Spokane, WA; her grandchildren, Jeff, Julie, Jarrod (Kim), Jesse (Renee), Tim, Tami, Gary, Sally, Patrick, Jennifer (Randal), Mandi (Jesse), Tara (Ryan), Chelsea, Breck, Chad (Holli), Cody, Tayah, Carson, Jordan and Cole; her great-grandchildren, Carson, Daisy, Olivia, Warren, Allison, Tayah, Kyler, Landen, Peyton and Danica; her great-great-grandchildren, Cooper, Lexi and Ida Marie.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Her husband’s love and devotion provided many happy years together and was a testament to their close family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Funeral Mass for Mary will be held Wednesday, September, 24th at 11:00 am at St. Paschal’s Catholic Church, 2523 N. Park Rd.
