Five injured in fiery crash east of Moscow

From staff reports
Five people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 3 east of Moscow late Sunday afternoon, the Idaho State Police said. All but one of the passengers had been released from the hospital by Monday afternoon. Lewiston resident Lee Skow, 32, was driving a late model Nissan pickup truck south on the highway between Kendrick and Deary when he lost control and swerved onto the shoulder just after 4 p.m., according to a news release. He steered back across the highway, driving over an embankment and rolling the truck, the ISP said. The vehicle caught fire, but all five occupants were able to exit the truck safely. Skow and other passengers were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewiston. Skow was treated and released, as was 29-year-old passenger Annette Tindle of Clarkston, Washington, and a four-year-old passenger. Mark Channell, 54, of Lewiston, was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon. Another passenger was not admitted to the hospital. It is unknown if Skow and the other passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The cause is under investigation, the ISP said.
