Growing depravity

On Sunday, Sept. 14, an astute observation was made in a letter from Ken Campbell concerning terminology. It may have sounded like he was nitpicking over words. However, the behavior of Seattle’s mayor is but one more indication of the growing depravity in America.

In the not too distant past, patriotism was more than just a concept. Citizens were proud of America and went to great lengths to honor and defend our great nation. Recently, a dozen Americans (plus over 200 Canadians) made the journey to Syria in order to join up with ISIS and to learn how to be a walking bomb. Their intent is to return to their “homelands” and blow them up.

Our president has publicly vowed to fight this cancerous terrorist group. Yet, for some strange reason, he has told his staff to make no reference to the words “jihad” and “terrorism” when dealing with them.

The Bible gives ample warning as to what happens when a nation turns its back on God. We received a small taste of this on September 11, 2001. Unless we repent, as a nation, we will indeed see the flag of Islam flying over the White House.
