All buildings on Gonzaga campus cleared and classes are resuming after bomb threat

From staff reports
UPDATE: Gonzaga University says all campus buildings have been inspected and are cleared for re-entry by students and staff. All scheduled classes, except those in the Law School, can resume. The Law School is closed today and classes will resume Friday as previously planned. Gonzaga officials said they will continue to work with Spokane Police on the source of the threat and the school’s response. Police said in a news release that they received a call just before 7 a.m. from a “male stating there was a bomb” on the Gonzaga campus. School officials said the “non-specific bomb threat” was called in from an off-campus telephone number. The campus was cleared as safe for re-entry around 10 a.m. following a search of all buildings by the police department, including its Explosives Disposal Unit, assisted by Gonzaga Security.

UPDATE: Gonzaga says all campus buildings have been cleared to re-enter except Herak, Paccar and Foley Center. The university hopes to have those buildings cleared soon, and will be releasing information soon on class schedules.

UPDATE: Police are departing from the scene of a reported bomb threat at the Gonzaga University campus this morning. Gonzaga is reporting that multiple buildings have been cleared and are safe to re-enter. Original story Spokane Police said they are working with Gonzaga University after a bomb threat was called in to the campus this morning. Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton said police are working with campus security to secure the area. The bomb threat was phoned in, she said. Gonzaga University spokesman Pete Tormey confirmed a non-specific bomb threat was received by the school this morning. Tormey said the school is directing people to evacuate all academic and administrative buildings as police conduct a building-by-building sweep. People who are not on campus should avoid the area, he said.
