Chelsea Clinton delivers a daughter

From Wire Reports

Chelsea Clinton has given birth to a daughter named Charlotte, the first grandchild of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, announced the birth of their first child early today. The baby’s name is Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.

In a statement on Twitter, Chelsea Clinton said she and her husband are “full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky.”

The baby’s arrival comes as Hillary Clinton considers another presidential campaign in 2016. Clinton is the leading Democratic contender to succeed President Barack Obama and has said she expects to make a decision on whether to run around the beginning of 2015.

Spears’ lingerie line coming out

Britney Spears is branching out. After 16 years in the music business and nearly 100 million record sales under her belt, the 32-year-old singer has added “designer” to her busy résumé.

The pop star launched her debut collection of lingerie and sleepwear, called “The Intimate Britney Spears,” in London this week.

The line, which Spears describes as “romantic, feminine and subtle,” has been 2 1/2 years in the making.

“It’s been a really long process but it’s been a lot of fun,” said Spears, who says she’s become “obsessed” with lingerie.

Spears flew into London to promote the collection during a break in performing at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Mellencamp-Ryan not over, alright?

John Mellencamp apparently still carries a torch for Meg Ryan.

The Indiana-based musician, 62, responded with an expletive when asked about reports circulating this summer that he and the “When Harry Met Sally” actress had split up after more than three years of dating, although he didn’t explicitly address their status.

“I’m very happy with the time I’ve spent with Meg Ryan,” he told the Associated Press. “She’s a beautiful girl and I know that I will never, ever, ever be with a funnier girl than her. Not gonna happen. I’m grateful for the three and a half years we’ve been together.”

So is it over?

“Nothing’s over,” he said. “Nothing’s over. I never say die for anything. Do you ever quit on anything?”
