Architecture

 Integrus Architecture has promoted Becky Barnhart and Robert Graper to associate principals. Barnhart is a shareholder with Integrus and president-elect of the American Institute of Architects Spokane Chapter. Graper is also a shareholder with the firm and is a member of the Structural Engineering Association of Washington and the American Institution of Steel Construction.

 Lillian Conn has hired Natalie Gauvin and Candie Wilcken as interior designers. Gauvin has 20 years of experience in the art and design industry. She was previously the charge artist at the San Diego Repertory Theater and assistant charge at La Jolla Playhouse. Wilcken operated her own design and construction business for more than 15 years.

Culinary

 Michael Dodd has been named sous chef for Red Lion Hotel at the Park. Previously, Dodd was the sous chef at Scratch Restaurant and Rain Lounge for six years. He is a graduate of the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy.

Education

 Susan Norwood, a nursing professor at Gonzaga University, has received a Fulbright Specialist appointment to set up a new medical clinic and teach clinic staff about basic first aid in Benin, West Africa. Norwood has been the director of Gonzaga-in-Benin, a study abroad program, since 2007.

Health care

 William Schmitt, a specialist in the care of ear and hearing disorders, has joined Spokane Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic. Schmitt graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and completed a residency in otorhinolaryngology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed his fellowship training in otology, neuro-otology and lateral skull base surgery at the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

Human resources

 Associated Industries has hired Curt Nead as vice president of safety services and workers’ compensation refund program, and Andrea Morgan as human resources adviser. Previously, Nead was safety director and human resources director at Crux Subsurface Inc. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and has experience in safety program development, employee relations, team building and more. Morgan is a certified Professional in Human Resources and has more than 15 years of experience in the human resources field. In addition, she has served on the board of directors for the Inland Northwest Society of Human Resource Management since 2006.

Nonprofit

 The Spokane Estate Planning Council has elected Stephanie R. Taylor as secretary/treasurer, Theresa A. Rodgers as membership chair and Kim Weller as program chair of the organization for the 2014-2015 program year.

 Jim Lippold has been inducted to the Spokane Central Lions Club.

 Etailz has hired Derek Schave as a German vendor onboarding coordinator and Ian Smith as a buyer.

 Melissa Skomer-Kafton has joined Visit Spokane as a visitor engagement specialist. Skomer-Kafton has 20 years of media experience.
