Spokane acquires forward from P.A.
The Spokane Chiefs added experience Monday in a trade with the Prince Albert Raiders for 20-year-old forward Calder Brooks.
In exchange for Brooks, who has 26 goals and 42 assists in 144 Western Hockey League games with Prince Albert (37) and Calgary (107), the Chiefs gave up a fifth-round pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
“Calder is a versatile forward and a solid leader,” said general manager Tim Speltz, noting the move gives the Chiefs four overage players. The WHL limit is three. Spokane has until an Oct. 16 deadline to make a decision.
