Spokane Shadow reveal 2015 schedule

Defending champion Spokane will open Evergreen Professional League play on May 3 at Wenatchee, the club announced Thursday.

SSC Shadow will play seven home matches, all on Saturday nights at Spokane Falls Community College. The home opener is May 9 against the Seattle Stars.

Last year, after a 9-year hiatus, the Shadow went unbeaten in their last 11 matches to win the EPLWA title.

Coach Chad Brown expects more of the same.

“The culture these guys created last year was incredibly competitive,” Brown said. “They competed to win every time they were together.”

The Shadow have signed 13 players, most of them with local ties:

Goalkeeper: Joe Scott, Cheney High School/Concordia and Montana State-Billings.

Defenders: Matt Bray, Ferris High/Whitworth; Colin Shockman, Mead High/Whitworth; Dustin Ferger, Mead High/Whitworth; Derek Zimmerman, Pasco High/Saint Mary’s and Western Washington; Ben Thompson, Lewis and Clark High/Redlands; Matt Beaulaurier, Ferris High/Saint Martin’s and Portland.

Midfielders: Pete Peterson, Central Valley High/Gonzaga; Devin Leon, Serrano (California) High/Serra Biola University; Micah Weller, Cheney High/Peninsula; Trevan Estrellado, Cheney High/Peninsula.

Forwards: Adam Talley, East Valley High/Western Washington; Karl Muhlheims, St. George’s/Whitworth.
