Awarded Boston University freshman Jack Eichel won the Hobey Baker Award on Friday as the top player in college hockey. Eichel, who is expected to be one of the first two players selected this year in the NHL draft, is just the second freshman to win the award in its 35-year history. The 18-year-old Eichel has 26 goals and 44 assists so far this season. The Terriers will play Providence in the NCAA championship game at Boston’s TD Garden tonight.

Decided Wisconsin Badgers junior forward Sam Dekker says he will skip his final season of eligibility and enter the NBA draft. Dekker averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during the 2014-2015 season. He helped the Badgers to a school-record 36 wins and Big Ten regular-season and tournament championships as the team reached the national championship game against Duke.

Agreed The Miami Dolphins’ Mike Pouncey has agreed to terms on a $52.2 million, five-year contract extension that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid center. He missed the first four games of the 2014 season following hip surgery, yet still made the Pro Bowl as a guard. He was a Pro Bowl center in 2013 and is expected to move back to that position this season.

Concerned An advocacy group is concerned sex workers’ safety could be at risk if police launch sweeps to clean up city streets leading to this summer’s Pan American Games in Toronto. Authorities in London cracked down on prostitution before the 2012 Olympics and police in Vancouver made efforts to curb street prostitution before the Winter Games two years earlier. Jean McDonald, executive director of Maggie’s, a Toronto organization run by and for sex workers, says she worries a stronger police presence could have a “harsh impact” on street-based sex workers, who would be forced to work in more isolated conditions. Advocates for sex workers’ rights have argued that isolation exposes sex workers to violence, and have pushed for the decriminalization of sex work.

Injured Portland guard Arron Afflalo will be out one to two weeks because of a right shoulder strain. Afflalo injured his shoulder during the Trail Blazers’ loss at Golden State on Thursday. He had an MRI on Friday that ruled out a more serious injury.

Suspended The NFL has suspended New York Giants linebacker Victor Butler without pay for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances.
