Investigators identify woman killed near Hauser

Crash investigators say Marie-Claire M. Steinkamp, 85, died Saturday when her minivan collided with a semitrailer near Hauser. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said she had been living a transient lifestyle and they were unable to find any relatives. Steinkamp’s last address was an apartment in the 1100 block of West Sprague. The collision happened at about 3 p.m. when Steinkamp failed to yield and drove her 1995 Ford Aerostar minivan into the path of the commercial truck at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Pleasantview Road.
