Condon’s gesture is smart

My out-of-town grandson just received a letter from the Spokane mayor’s office congratulating him on being accepted by Gonzaga University to attend school in our city next year. The letter then went on to outline all the positives related to going to college in Spokane.

Now, I recognize the uniqueness in a citizen accusing a politician of doing something intelligent, but I unhesitatingly do so. What a great idea. There can be nothing but positive results for our city making this effort and, who knows, perhaps it might tip the scales for a scholar with multiple acceptances from other excellent schools to come to Gonzaga.

Good work, Mayor David Condon.
