Gonzaga recruit Jesse Wade completes big senior season in Utah

Jesse Wade, who signed in November and is the only member so far of Gonzaga’s 2015 class, had a big senior season at Davis High (Kaysville, Utah).

Wade led the state in scoring at 26.8 points. He also averaged 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals. He surpassed 30 points nine times, including a 46-point game.

Davis, playing with a compressed fracture in his right (shooting) wrist, scored 35 points in a 64-62 loss to Brighton in the 5A state semifinals.

Wade made 60.3 percent of 2-point attempts, 44.9 percent of 3-pointers and 85.6 percent of free throws. He was selected Utah’s Mr. Basketball by the Deseret News and MVP of the Salt Lake Tribune’s All-Tribune team. The 6-foot-1 Wade was named honorable mention All-American by MaxPreps.

Wade leaves April 29 to serve a Latter-day Saints mission in Lyon, France. He will join the Bulldogs’ program for the 2017-2018 season.
