Orlando’s opens

The student-run restaurant at Spokane Community College opens today for spring.

Themed weeks – Classic French, Asian/Pacific Rim and Mediterranean – are planned. There’s a special brunch buffet June 3 and Bistro Dinner June 4. The final buffet is June 16.

The restaurant is located in Building 1 on the SCC campus at 1810 N. Greene St. The hours are 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Chili Cook-off

This benefit helps the Post Falls Food Bank and Community Action Partnership.

Guests get all-you-can-eat chili prepared by about 30 local businesses vying for the people’s choice award as well as grand champion.

Sukiyaki dinner

Highland Park United Methodist Church is hosting its annual Spring Bazaar and Sukiyaki Dinner on Saturday.

Sukiyaki with beef or tofu will be served noon to 6 p.m. Baked goods, including senbei, or crispy rice crackers, and hand-rolled sushi will also be sold. Tickets cost $14 each and may be reserved by calling the church at (509) 535-2687.

Cork, Keg and Spirits Festival

This annual event, presented by the local chapter of the Washington Restaurant Association, takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley.

Clover Classic Cocktail Dinner

This six-course dinner pairs classic cocktails with dishes such as citrus and fennel cured spring salmon (Vesper), lemon and tarragon sorbet (French 75) and whiskey and coffee pot du crème (Irish coffee).
