Obituary: Thompson, Jodi Lynn

Age 31

THOMPSON, Jodi Lynn (Age 31) Our dearest Jodi passed away peacefully at the Spokane Hospice House on April 14, 2015.

She was born on May 14, 1983 in Seattle, WA.

Graduating from Central Valley High School in 2001, she continued her education at Spokane Community College and then attended EWU in Cheney, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in August 2009, in interdisciplinary studies.

Jodi was a beautiful, spunky, witty, kind-hearted soul, who was loved very much.

She loved to go on vacations with her family and friends.

She loved to sit in the sun and read a good book.

She was an accomplished swimmer.

She loved to go hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, play golf, volleyball and softball, and she loved to sing along to her favorite tunes.

She also enjoyed taking long walks with her dog Sadie, cuddling with her cats and being outside.

Jodi was a member of the honor society throughout her junior high and high school years and graduated in the top 10% of her high school class.

She also participated in Bloomsday for over 20 years.

Jodi was a natural born leader, inspiring many throughout her short life.

During the last months of her life she got the opportunity to travel around in her RV, with her beloved animals Karma, Dansik and Sadie, and her travelling companion and soul-mate, Joey.

Jodi was a fighter to the end.

She was strong-willed and brave and she passed with great dignity.

Her feisty spirit will carry on inside all who knew her.

She is survived by her mom, Tammy and her step dad, Tim; sister, Brittney; brother, Scott (and fiancĂŠe Cassie); father, Jim; step sisters, Jinny and Suzanne; grandparents, Jack and Linda and Diane; and her extended family and multitude of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Spokane Hospice House, in Jodi’s name.

There will be a celebration of Life at a later date.

Thank you to all of you who sent your thoughts and prayers to Jodi in her last months.

We will forever remember her favorite saying; “flip-flops, no alarm clocks!”

Jodi, you will be greatly missed by all the lives you touched.

Forever in our hearts and prayers, we will love you forever and never forget your smiling face……….. Peace out Jodi!!!
