Another PC witch hunt

Shawn Vestal’s politically correct witch hunt (July 22) reflects a trend that now warps the political left and attacks our individual freedoms. Attaching remote, unrelated examples of alleged racism to Airway Heights Mayor Patrick Rushing’s case is certainly an underhanded tactic. Also, what in the world is the relevance of Rachel Dolezal’s behavior to Rushing’s?

Even in its opinion articles, doesn’t a newspaper have a responsibility to be accurate? Vestal’s article is a smear piece, and for him to use the Inlander as an objective reference is actually laughable. When “all lives matter” becomes a racist statement, something is terribly wrong; political correctness run amok. Freedom of expression is being lost, and that infringes upon freedom of the press. For a newspaper to encourage the destruction of free speech is the ultimate irony.

Parents used to teach children to respect others. That worked quite well in my experience. Plus, that system did not reduce our freedoms.
