Obituary: Hartman, Richard Alan

Age 65

HARTMAN, Richard Alan (Age 65) Rich, a longtime Spokane Valley resident, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on July 30, 2015.

He was born in Oxnard, CA on September 3, 1949 and moved to Spokane as a young boy where he grew up on the South Hill and attended Ferris High School.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 45 years; his daughter Monica Lively, son-in-law Kurt; grandchildren Madison and Matthew; siblings, Bob, Rodger, Teddy, Kathie, Glenn, and Arlee; nephew Adam Mika and family; and numerous other beloved family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Mary Hartman; brother Wilbur; and his so adored Chow Dolly.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter spending lots of time outdoors.

He worked all his life in road construction and was an heavy equipment operator.

He was a long time member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 370.

He loved animals and spending time with family and numerous friends.

He will be missed as a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Darcy’s Restaurant (10512 E. Sprague Ave.) on Sunday, August 16th at 1:00pm.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at Sacred Heart Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Dialysis Center as well as the paramedics with AMR.
