The Dirt: Dutch Bros. to open outlet on Pines and Sprague

A Dutch Bros. Coffee outlet is planned for construction near the northeast corner of Pines Road and Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley.

This will be the seventh Dutch Bros. location in the Spokane area owned by Kevin and Kerry Parker. Kevin Parker said construction is expected to start in about two weeks for the new site at 20 N. Pines Road, behind a Denny’s restaurant. The stand will sit near a long-vacant Albertsons grocery store.

The Parkers plan for the Spokane Valley stand to open later this fall, with first-day proceeds to benefit a local charity, Kevin Parker said.

Aircraft company to grow Sandpoint factory

Quest Aircraft Co. will expand its Sandpoint factory, with plans to add about 75,000 square feet to its production facility that builds the Kodiak single-engine turboprop airplane.

The project to add factory space is expected to start sometime this month, with completion targeted by year-end.

Quest last increased the size of its facility in 2005, when it expanded to the current 84,000 square feet. Based in Sandpoint, the company was founded in 2001.

The Japanese firm Setouchi Holdings Inc. earlier this year acquired Quest Aircraft Co., under plans for the company to remain in Sandpoint with its same leadership team and use new capital from Setouchi to ramp up production.
