Assault, other charges could bring life sentence for suspect, 35

A man accused of threatening and pointing a gun at a woman faces a third strike and possible life imprisonment if convicted.

The alleged threats occurred at an apartment complex in Spokane Valley, at 10101 E. Main Ave., where a brawl involving more than 50 people took place last month.

Jason M. Tittman, 35, loudly proclaimed his innocence in a court hearing Wednesday. After the judge set his bond at $150,000, Tittman talked animatedly with his attorney, then dropped his head into his hands and appeared to be near tears.

His charges include second-degree assault, three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a firearm, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest.

Tittman allegedly left the complex with others in a car that was soon pulled over; he ran and was caught by a police dog. The car contained meth, heroin and cocaine as well as scales and drug packaging materials, according to court documents. Two guns were also found.

Tittman has 12 previous felony convictions and is on probation after being released from prison.

Two other people with Tittman at the apartment complex and in the car were also arrested. Andrew V. Auerbach, an 11-time convicted felon, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. His bond was set at $25,000.

Auerbach’s girlfriend, Nicole L. Allen, is facing the same charges as Auerbach with the exception of the firearms charge. She has no previous criminal history. Her bond was set at $3,500.
