Get carbon tax on ballot

It is time to do something about climate change. The risks are too great to sit back and wait to see what happens. Carbon taxes provide an incentive for people to change their consumption patterns and get smarter about how we use energy and gasoline.

Washington has a carbon tax proposal, Initiative 732, that is revenue neutral, and we need to get it on the ballot for 2016. In addition to a carbon tax, the initiative also lowers the business and occupation tax on manufacturing, lowers the state sales tax by 1 percent and provides a tax credit for low-income households.

This will give us the incentive we need to change what we buy and help make the future better for our kids and grandkids. Please sign a petition to get I-732 on the ballot. See carbonwa.org for more information.
