Gun control ironic
Many historians say our gun control laws originated with an effort by white people to control black people. The Jim Crow gun control laws are a good example. However, historically there is a pattern where the political power has always controlled the weaponry of those in a lower socio-economic class. Controlling weaponry equates to people control.
Recently, President Obama signed an executive order prohibiting an incapacitated person from possessing firearms. His justification is to stop the violence committed by people with some sort of psychosis. Many people defined as incapacitated, in a judicial ruling, are not psychotic and present no threat to public safety, but need a guardian to help with such things as finances.
The Veterans Administration is now going after the firearms of vets deemed incapacitated. One such vet cannot do his checkbook as a result of a stroke he recently suffered. But, as an incapacitated person, is about to have his firearms confiscated.
How ironic. A black president employing tactics similar to Jim Crow gun control laws, and by racists and wannabe dictators.
