Respect parking code

I was shocked that Patty Walker felt she had the right to park illegally, and should not have received a ticket. She was a visitor to the neighborhood and disrespected the residents. There are a lot of driveways because a lot of people live there. There is a reason people are not to park closer than 5 feet from a driveway: It is so residents can get in and out of their driveway, and so emergency vehicles can have access.

We live in the Perry District, and people are constantly blocking our driveway. Code enforcement is not here enough. The city approves growth in these areas but does an inadequate job of enforcing the parking regulations. We put out cones and they are stolen, destroyed or moved. To those visiting our neighborhood: Please treat our property as you would like others to treat yours.

If Walker had followed the parking regulations, she would not have gotten a ticket. Really, whose fault is it? She should be thankful she was not towed.
