Shooting could spark fires

The public has to only look out their windows to see the haze caused from the fires in our area. This is dangerous wildfire weather, things are tinder dry, campgrounds are being closed, no fires are allowed, and yet the Department of Natural Resources is allowing shooting at Stonelodge (Suncrest area).

The shooters are using large-caliber guns and shooting, among other things, tannerite, which is highly flammable. One fire has already been started by a careless shooter this summer, a bullet has gone into a neighbor’s home, a neighboring farmer has had to cease farming because of the careless disregard to the fact that he was trying to farm his land, trees are being riddled with shells as well as shells and garbage being left scattered on the ground.

This area is basically in the middle of a residential area, and listening to the shooting during the daytime and after dark is frightening, and yet the Department of Natural Resources refuses to close the area. Will the community of Suncrest and the surrounding timberland have to burn before the Department of Natural Resources does something?
