Protect energy sources

What happened to the quest for energy independence? Those of us old enough remember waiting in long lines hoping to buy gasoline. We vowed as a nation to never again let a foreign country manipulate us.

So what’s changed? Why are we shipping our oil and coal resources abroad? And who is reaping the benefit? You? I know I’m not seeing any of that money. All of the talk about the environmental impact of oil and coal trains is just a smoke screen to keep us from asking these real important questions.

Maybe we should be looking to our next president as someone who will protect the birthright of our children; that is, the natural resources of the nation.
