Gonzaga, Eastern Washington release conference women’s basketball schedules

The Gonzaga women’s basketball team announced its West Coast Conference schedule on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs will have 18 overall home games in the upcoming season at McCarthey Athletic Center as they also seek their 12th consecutive WCC regular-season title.

The WCC season begins with a road trip on Dec. 21 at Pepperdine. It concludes with home games on Feb. 25 and Feb. 27 against San Diego and BYU.

The West Coast Conference tournament will follow on March 3-8 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Eastern Washington’s women’s basketball team also announced its schedule and it features six teams that competed in the last season’s NCAA tournament.

The Eagles also will play against nine programs that won at least 20 games last season and against four programs that won their conference’s regular-season title.

The Eagles open at home against Air Force on Nov. 15.

Eastern opens Big Sky Conference play at home on Dec. 31 against Northern Colorado and its last conference game is March 4 at Weber State.

The Big Sky tournament is scheduled for March 7-12 in Reno, Nevada.

Afif honored

Spokane Shock offensive lineman Patrick Afif was named to the All-Arena Football second team, the AFL announced.

Philadelpia led the league with four first-team selections, led by QB Dan Raudabaugh.
